Why the process matters
Turning a screen-based character into a fabric mascot is both a creative and technical exercise. Colour, proportion and personality must survive the move into real materials, while the structure must remain repeatable at scale.
Step 1 — Submit the brief
Provide front and side views where available, target size, quantity, intended use, budget, packaging and required delivery date. Mark non-negotiable features such as expression, accessories, colour codes and logo placement.
Step 2 — Specification and quotation
The production team reviews complexity, materials and construction options. A useful quotation separates design and sample costs, unit price by quantity, packaging, freight, tax and the assumptions that could change the price.
Step 3 — Engineer a sewable structure
Artwork is translated into pattern pieces, seams and material layers. The team checks head-to-body ratio, standing or sitting stability, embroidery areas and the minimum size at which details remain legible.
Step 4 — Make and approve the prototype
The physical sample reveals colour, hand feel, balance, accessories and packaging. Consolidate comments from Brand, Marketing and Procurement into one marked-up list. Once approved, the reference sample and technical notes become the production standard.
Step 5 — Scale production
Materials are prepared by batch and cutting, sewing, stuffing and finishing follow the approved reference. Brand colours should be reviewed on physical material, and acceptable handmade tolerances should be agreed before production.
Step 6 — Quality control and delivery
Checks cover appearance, seams, attachments, cleanliness, count and packaging. Event orders also need a delivery plan, carton labels, site contact and enough buffer before the activation date.
Plan a realistic timeline
An indicative schedule may include 7–14 days for design, 7–10 days for sampling and 3–6 weeks for production. Complexity, quantity, materials, approval rounds and seasonal capacity can change the total; confirm the committed schedule for each order.
Frequently asked questions
When can we receive an accurate quotation?
When size, quantity, artwork, packaging and approximate deadline are available.
Can we skip the prototype?
It is not recommended for a new design; the physical sample is the key approval point before scale production.
Will fabric match a Pantone colour exactly?
Materials differ from screens and printed paper. Approve a physical swatch and agree acceptable tolerance.
